McMahon was part of the Kangaroos that competed in the 2015 World Cup final, but his transfer to Japan initially made him ineligible for the Australian competition.

McMahon, who was brought back to the Wallabies by Rennie, will be allowed to compete in Australia's Test against Scotland, England, and Wales over the consecutive weekends of November and the Japan Tour on October 23.

Although his contract in Japan doesn't expire until early 2023, he may also qualify for the next France Rugby World Cup.
