RWC 2023: Canada rugby team imagines feeling the tweak after failing to qualify for World Cup
After failing to qualify for the Rugby World Cup, the rebuilding process began. Canadian coach Kingsley Jones has selected his roster for the European Tour in November. Off the field, the Canadian Rugby Association is weighing the consequences of not presenting the sport for the first time. Rugby Fans can buy Rugby World Cup Tickets from our website.
"It's really unacceptable
for a powerful country like Canada, but we've always known that [2023] may be
the hardest World Cup to qualify for," he added.
The currently 23rd Canadian
man in the World Cup qualifiers lost to 17th ranked American (59-50 total
score) and 26th Chile (54-46 total score) in the World Cup qualifier. Now it
will be 2023. The French team, after qualifying for all nine previous matches.
The manuscript is probably
on the wall. Canada will only be eligible to participate in the 2019 World Cup
in Japan if the last chance of rebirth exists, and the epidemic has dealt a
major blow to the sport in North America.
Chris Le Fevre, a former
executive committee member of the Canadian Rugby and World Rugby executive
council, called the loss to Chile "the final nail in Canada's demise in
international men's rugby".
In an open letter dated
October 10, he called on the Canadian Rugby Association to clean up, citing
"the current long-term incompetent management, constant denial and
self-deception".
The pandemic will limit
Canadians to two games between the 2019 World Cup and qualifiers for the World
Cup in September.
Canada lost to England in
4th place in July and Wales in 9th place with a total score of 138-26. Sky
Sports described the young England team's 70-14 performance as "no shooter
needed. The Canadian's rescue the team's fiasco".
Jones' job as a 15-year-old
men's coach and director of men's rugby is not under threat. Vansen said the
former Wales captain is evaluating his performance in the World Cup qualifiers
and preparation for the two games in November. Fan Vansen called it "the
start of our journey to 2027 qualifying". Rugby Fans

"He is still our head
coach and has my full support," said Vansen.

Jones has insisted on the young line-up he has deployed in July's Test and World Cup qualifiers, playing against Portugal on the 19th and Belgium on November 6 in Lisbon and against Brussels on November 13.
"It's very pleasant.
All these people raise their hands to come back," Jones said.
For the first time in the
July test, there was a limit of 10 players.
Jones initially hoped his
young talent would gain experience in the American Rugby Challenge and other
competitions, but it was canceled due to COVID-19. He said if there is no
pandemic, they may have 8 to 10 test matches before the July testing window.
Combined with the time he
spent in another season at the North American Major League Rugby Tournament or
at the Sevens Tournament, he believes Canada can qualify through a rematch if
necessary.
"This is a failure,
just poor performance in those [qualifying] games. Obviously, this is a high
price, but I think most of this group of people will be playing for Canada in
the next 10 years," Jones said.
According to Vansen, the
turnover of the last World Cup also played a role.
The Canadian women are third
in the world rankings but have not competed in the competition for two years,
which ends Monday with the sixth-ranked American team.
If you do not participate in
the Men's Rugby World Cup, it will
affect profits and the financial contribution of world rugby will decrease.
"It's too early to know
what will happen to a targeted high-value investment for a 15-year-old male,
but we [reasonably] expect to see a significant reduction in that
investment," said Vansen.
In 2018, the Canadian Rugby
Association stated that if it does not qualify to participate in the 2019
competition, the World Rugby Association's high investment will lose more than
$1 million per year. After the Resurrection, Canada received an additional
$450,000 from the World Rugby Association in 2018 and 2019.
