New Zealand
has unveiled its jersey for the T20 World Cup 2021, happening in the United
Arab Emirates and Oman between October 17 and November 14. The jersey of New
Zealand is a combination of beautiful argentine blue color, grey, and black
with a white big fern designed on the front side. Fans are loving the new
jersey.
New Zealand
was the first team to name their 15 squad member for the T20 World Cup. Ross
Taylor and Colin De Grandhomme are not part of the squad this time. Kane
Williamson is the captain of the team. Three spinners are included,
leg-spinners Ish Sodhi and Todd Astle, alongside left-arm spinner Mitchell
Santer, whereas the pacers are Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson, Kyle Jamieson, and
Tim Southee. All-rounders of the squad are James Neesham and Daryl Mitchell.
The absence
of Ross Taylor aside, the batting units look familiar with skipper Kane
Williamson, Devon Conway, and Martin Guptill. The two wicketkeepers are Tim
Siefert and Glenn Phillips. Furthermore, former Hong Kong player Mark Chapman
is also included in the squad, whereas Adam Milne is added to the squad as a
backup for injury.
Kane
Williamson was leading the team Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier
League recently. While two kiwi’s bowlers Ferguson and Southee were playing for
Kolkata Knight Riders in the same event. While bowler Jamieson played for Royal
Challengers Bangalore, Siefert as wicketkeeper for Kolkata Knight Riders, and
pace Trent Boult for Mumbai Indians.
Adam Milne
who is added to the squad as injury cover was the leading wicket-taker of The
hundred with Birmingham Phoenix and played three games for Mumbai in the UAE
leg.
New Zealand
will play their debut match for this year's T20 World Cup against Pakistan on
October 26, followed by a match against India on October 31.
