Six Nations 2022: Johnny Sexton returns fit and ready to go against Italy

"Yeah, thank
goodness," Sexton said when asked if he was fit enough to play.
"I had a full training
last weekend, then a day at the physic the day we played the U20s (Saturday),
then a full prepare today and yesterday and everything was fine.
"I stopped early (for
France) on Wednesday and hoped it wouldn't be too bad, but we had scans and it
was bad enough to rule me out."
Ireland's destiny is now out
of their hands after a third consecutive defeat to France.
Sexton played in a 35-27
defeat to Paris in the 2020 Championships, a match in which Ireland could have
won the title on extra points.
Obviously frustrated with
ten minutes to go that day, he admitted it was hard to miss the chance to make
it up at the Stade de France.
"I think it's a game
that I've pretty much had in my skull for the past two years, and based on
what's happened before, I think I'm a good place to put it on the bed and put
those experts on to put the bed.
"Look, I had a minor
injury and it was bad timing, but the team learned some great things there, but
it was certainly hard to watch from the opinions, yeah."
