Six Nations Tickets: Welsh player Ross Moriarty shows suitability for Irish opener

Welsh back row Ross Moriarty said he was supporting himself as they prepare for the opening match of the Six Nations against Ireland. Moriarty played his first game on Friday since a shoulder injury during Wales' win over New Zealand in October. Six Nations Rugby Fans can buy Six Nations Tickets from our website.

The 27-year-old was outstanding in the Dragons' 13-13 draw against Benetton. The score is impressive. Wales kick off their Six Nations campaign in Dublin on February 5.

Wales head coach Wayne Pivac is looking to move forward with injuries to defenders England and Ireland Lions Justin Tipuric, Josh Navidi, Taulupe Faletau and Dan Lydiate. Moriarty was able to prove his playing form.

Moriarty was the Dragons' most striking performance when he captained the United Rugby Championship, proving that he offers a physical advantage that other current Welsh options don't.

"I couldn't really mark myself too much this match was a very stop-start," he said.

"I feel good, my body is good, and that’s all that matters. I miss it already and it's nice to be back on the field."

"It's good to get the challenges, It's nice to be in the game and come out unharmed and carry what I need so I'm just happy to be on the field and be one to get out."

When called up next weekend, Moriarty will win his 50th Wales cap as he joins forces with Aaron Wainwright, Ellis Jenkins, James Ratti, Taine Basham, and Jac Morgan who battled for the back row.

"Confidently I can play next week, it’s been a long time. The Six Nations is a special moment, particularly now that the fans are coming back.

Dean Ryan, head of the rugby union team, praised his returning captain and emphasized his contribution.

"After not playing for three months and he's the best man for the game you can see the changes a player like Ross can make," Ryan added.

"We can get out of him without putting pressure on him I've talked to Wayne Pivac and it's the limit.

"I know Wayne has to make a decision next week and we want Ross to have the best chance.

With Moriarty on the job in Wales, the Dragons had a two-week hiatus before resuming a season in which they took just one win in 11 games.

Moriarty acknowledged that more wins were desperately needed to boost morale.

"Try to stay positive and keep going, we have to get through it we are in a difficult situation at the moment, stick together, start training in a few weeks.

Sent-off Dee's apology

Dragon’s hooker Elliot Dee's initial hopes of returning to Wales seemed doomed to fail when he was sent off at the last minute for head-shaking with opponents Benetton as he tried to clear the trash side by side.

Dee, who later say sorry for the incident on social media, was initially sidelined by Pivac with an ankle injury, but then came on as a substitute against Benetton.
