They expect Jones to commit to rugby in Wales that Ospreys hinted this week, despite previously discussing a lucrative move to Japan. However, the Daily Mail believes the deal is complete and will be a huge boost for Wayne Pivac and his team from Wales.

The Welsh rugby team extended their contract with the Welsh rugby union and the Ospreys for a year last April and it appears he has done the same.

However, Jones will miss the Six Nations due to a shoulder injury that will require two surgeries.

He is expected to make a full recovery, but in his current absence, Pivac must decide on a new Wales captain for the upcoming competition and lead Wales to next year's Rugby World Cup.

Wales have started defending their title in less than a month and Pivac looks set to have five captaincy options: Justin Tipuric, Jonathan Davies, Ken Owens, Ellis Jenkins or Dan Biggar.

The form and capability leading up to the Dublin clash will be key for whoever gets the wink.

Rhys Patchell, the Welsh half-aviator, is said to be on Bath's radar.

Bath are looking to reform their roster for the 2022-23 season, with Taulupe Faletau moving to Cardiff and Lions Anthony Watson could also leave.

Former England star Danny Cipriani's contract with Rec expires this summer and it's clear that rugby's Bath director Stuart Hooper sees Patchell as a possible replacement.

Patchell sees him as the man who can help them revive their fortunes, the West Country, the bottom of the Premiership table, Cipriani has yet to show his full potential with Bath.

Patchell made his Wales debut nine years ago but got out of the Test matches for a different reason.

He faces competition for the coveted Welsh number 10 shirt from Dan Biggar, Gareth Anscombe, Callum Sheedy, Jarrod Evans and Rhys Priestland, the latter returning to Wales’s rugby from Bath.

Patchell is unlikely to miss most of the club's season in international competition, making him an attractive option for Bass.
