John Deere Classic will refer three players to the British Open 2022

The John Deere Classic the only annual PGA Tour event in Illinois moved from June 27 to July 3 a week earlier on the 2022 tour calendar, making it the opposite of the weekend of July 4 that's not all. In recent years, JDC has chartered a jet to take its players straight to next week's British Open. The British Open fans can buy British Open Tickets from our website.

An earlier spot on the schedule makes this redundant as players will have more time to play in the last major of the year, but more will have the chance to excel at the TPC Deere Run in Silvis next year, giving them a chance to play in the UK.

Among the top five players who had not previously qualified for the British Open, the No. 1 JDC player had earned a spot in the field in previous years. In 2022, the opportunity will be awarded to three players in the top 10. No such waiver will be available in 2021 due to pandemic concerns, but Jordan Spieth (2013) and Bryson DeChambeau (2017) have received such waivers in the past.

JDC Executive Director Clair Peterson also announced the fundraiser for the tournament's 50th anniversary last year. It elevated $12,568,038 for 470 local contributions in the Quad Cities area.

It's rare for Chicago golf organizations to announce next year's event schedule before spring, but the Chicago Area Golf Association broke with tradition by releasing a schedule of 86 events for 2022, including 55 championships and 31 championships social aspects.

Key dates and venues are July 19-21 for the 91st Illinois Hobby at Westmoreland in Wilmette and June 27-30 for the 102nd Chicago Area Hobby. The event will be held at Glen Flora in Waukegan.

The CDGA also released a commemorative yearbook, a coffee table edition made by PuttView Books in Delaware, listing his dream eighteen holes. Olympia Course was selected Nos. 2 and 6 and was the only course to score more than one hole in a CDGA member vote.
