Before RWC 2023 All Blacks are ready to give Japan a tough time in Tokyo

It’s been four years since Japan played against the All Blacks in a Rugby League Test match, and both teams have played a lot of rugby since New Zealand won that match 69-31. Japan had a solid home run at the 2019 Rugby World Cup. But the legendary All Blacks seem less invincible since Tokyo’s win in 2018. Rugby World Cup 2023 fans can buy New Zealand Vs Uruguay Tickets from our website.

So both teams will have something to prove. When they play their seventh test match at the Tokyo National Stadium on October 29. The All Blacks will try to confirm their dominance in world rugby. While Japan will undergo another test to prove they can live with the great men of the sport.

After meeting the All Blacks, Japan travels to Europe to face France and England. While the All Blacks travel to the teams that play against England: England, Scotland and Wales.

Japan head coach Jamie Joseph

Japan head coach Jamie Joseph said he was excited about the team’s autumn schedule: “We are really looking forward to hosting the All Blacks in Tokyo and playing for our home fans. We are excited to finish. and then to host New Zealand It’s England and France on our European tour and these three teams will be in the ranks next year to win the Webb Ellis Cup in Paris This is where we need to test our level of competition to strengthen for next year’s Rugby World Cup lineup.”

There was a time when Japan would be afraid to face the All Blacks. At the 1995 Rugby World Cup, the All Blacks set a record by beating the defeated Japanese 145-17. Although rugby is relatively well known in Japan – the Waseda University versus Meiji University matches will draw 60,000 spectators to the National Stadium – the standards of play and domestic infrastructure for rugby are poor.

Waseda’s teams may have a place in the country’s 10 most popular teams, but outside of the college league, football is only represented by corporate teams, and with a few exceptions, such as Kobe Steel, it usually draws a small crowd.

The Japan Rugby Football Union (JRFU) tried to solve this problem by launching the first Japanese professional league in 2003. But the truth is, it’s just a rip-off of the company’s old rugby tournament, and most of the players are still employees of the company.

But slowly Japanese rugby started to develop and as more teams recruited better players and coaches, some of the biggest names in rugby came to Japan. With the appointment of foreign coaches to lead the national team (and some club teams) and the introduction of “foreign” players into the national team, Japanese rugby has taken a dramatic turn.

Eddie Jones

When Eddie Jones became coach in 2012, his goal was to make Japan a top 10 country to rival the big boys in rugby, and his uncompromising style started to pay off. The win over Wales in 2013 raised eyebrows and the team is confident to enter the 2015 World Cup.

It went on to produce what the BBC called “the biggest upset in the world of rugby”, beating the southern hemisphere giants South Africa 34-32. At that World Cup, Japan also became the first team to win three billiard games, but still was eliminated from the group stage.

When Jones leaves for England to coach, Japanese rugby fans wonder if Joseph. The new coach of the former All Blacks can keep the national team going. Japan is still struggling to beat the world’s best teams. But Joseph has JRFU’s support to lead the home team to the 2019 Rugby World Cup.  Rugby World Cup fans can buy New Zealand Vs Namibia Tickets from our website.

Backed by a rabid crowd and a feel-good rugby boom, Japan stunned powerhouse Ireland and defeated Scotland en route to the quarter-finals, where they were defeated by eventual champions, South Africa.

Japan has faced France twice on home soil this year, losing 20-15 and 42-23 respectively, before beating Uruguay in two home games. Joseph said the results “fairly reflect” where his team is. The return of FC France winger Kotaro Matsushima and striker Kazuki Himeno from injury will give Joseph’s squad a boost as they warm up against the Australian A’s.

New Zealand Rugby CEO Mark Robinson

“Japanese rugby in Japan has grown in popularity in recent years and this is reflected in the national team’s results, so the All Blacks will be looking forward to a tough test in Tokyo,” said Rugby New Zealand chief executive Mark Robinson.

“We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Rugby Japan.”

Michael Leitch

The All Blacks are considered the “Gods of Rugby” in Japan. They also have a commercial partnership in Japan, where they were everyone’s second favourite team at the 2019 World Cup. Japan coach Joseph plays for both New Zealand and Japan. While former Japan captain Michael Leitch is also from New Zealand.

The All Blacks finished a disappointing third place at the 2019 World Cup and are hoping to claim the trophy at the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France. But 2022 will be a difficult year for the team. They lost a run of three games to Ireland 2-1 at home in July. South Africa on 7 August and then Argentina 25-18 in Christchurch. It could have been a wake-up call as they defeated the South Americans 53-3 a week later and narrowly beat Australia 39-37 on September 15.

Japan will have to do everything it can to match the All Blacks. But a potentially full game and Joseph’s tactical knowledge will give the hosts a chance. As Ireland, Scotland and South Africa can attest, underestimate Japan at your own risk.

All Black Jordie Barrett signs new contract with New Zealand rugby team

Jordie Barrett has officially signed a new deal that sees him join the Hurricanes and New Zealand Rugby (NZR) in the capital until the end of 2025. During the new contract, he can choose to take time off.

Last month, in the Bledisloe Cup game against Australia. Barrett made his first start in the All Blacks’ No. 12 shirt, further proving his versatility as a handy goal scorer. He has also started testing on the wing, fullback and in the top five or eight.

The Taranaki rep and 45-Test All Blacks said he was delighted to have extended his contract with the Hurricanes and was honoured to be wearing the Vortex again. Rugby World Cup fans can buy rwc 2023 Tickets from our website.

“It’s a privilege to have the chance to live in New Zealand and play rugby. It’s been a dream of mine since I was a kid,” Barrett said.

“I feel the Hurricanes are in a really good position right now and I feel the All Blacks are going in a special direction.”

All Blacks head coach Ian Foster added: “I am delighted with Jordie’s contract extension.”

“He has become an important part of our long-term plans. His commitment to New Zealand through 2025 is great news.”

Hurricanes CEO Avan Lee

Hurricanes CEO Avan Lee said it was a good result to have Barrett lock up the entire deal in the capital. His older brother Beauden left the Hurricanes to join the Blues in 2019 when he signed his current contract.

“It’s a good result for us. We don’t want to worry about Jordie leaving every year. It’s really cool to have him locked up for three years,” Lee said.

Lee also confirmed to NZME that Jordie Barrett’s new deal included a possible furlough.

“It’s an option. It also has to be in balance with people like Ardie. We don’t want to lose two players in a year but no guaranteed days off, it comes down to rugby NZ, ourselves and NZ rugby. Negotiations. The player and his agent. Sure, there is some appeal to taking a break during the World Cup cycle, but when we talk about it, we are crossing the bridge. If Jordie really wants to do that and go off to a season of Super Rugby, then we are of course open to that,” he added.

Born into a rugby-loving family, the 25-year-old is one of eight siblings, including Beauden and Scott of the All Blacks. Their father, Kevin “Smiley” Barrett, played 167 games for Taranaki and the Hurricanes.

A fast bowler with talent in cricket, Barrett was highlighted as a major problem among students at Francis Douglas Memorial College in New Plymouth. He chose rugby and went south to study business administration at Lincoln University.

In 2016, after just one season of domestic rugby, Barrett toured the Northern Hemisphere as an All Blacks apprentice.

The following year, Barrett made his breakthrough in Super Rugby, playing 17 games and scoring 135 points in his debut season before being called up to the All Blacks.

Hurricanes head coach Jason Holland is delighted to take over Barrett as the Hurricanes prepare for the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific season.

“It’s great to have Jordie on the Canes. He has become an important leader for our team on and off the field,” said Holland.

“Last year he played his best football when he was 12 and 15 and we expect him to get even better in the coming years.”
