Eddie Jones holds discussions with Racing 92 about a coaching part after Rugby World Cup 2023

According to French media reports, Eddie Jones has been in talks with 14 giants Racing 92 about taking on the role after his rugby union contract expires. Jones has recurrently confirmed his purpose to step down as England manager after the Rugby World Cup 2023 in October, and the RFU is actively seeking his replacement. Racing 92's interest in Jones was first reported by The Rugby Paper, while French rugby media bible Midi Olympique reported talks had taken place but no final agreement had been reached. "There is nothing less certain" about who Racing will appoint as head coach if current head coach Laurent Travers emerges as head of rugby, the newspaper said.

While England has won just two games in their Six Nations run, Jones will be in high demand once it's his turn. Jones orchestrated Japan's conception against South Africa during the 2015 World Cup before leading England to the 2019 World Cup final.

The 62-year-old Jones' hunger for the game is as insatiable as ever. He has already been linked with Suntory Sungoliath (he recently coached after England's disappointing Six Nations game) and Major League Rugby team San Diego Legion (he was an advisor).

Jones' last full-time position at a major club was with the Saracens until he was replaced by Brendan Venter in 2009, but he was in charge of Canberra for three years before being named manager of the Wallabies Team Brumby, which took them to the Super Rugby title in 2001.

After his departure from Japan, RFU chief Ian Ritchie suddenly made him the successor to Stuart Lancaster, who had promised to take over the South African super rugby team the Stormers.

Jones continues to dominate the top of the RFU, with CEO Bill Sweeney fully supporting the Australian despite three more defeats in the Six Nations. Jones, who has the highest win rate of any English manager at 76.8%, believes his "New England" project will bear fruit at the Rugby World Cup 2023 in France.
