Miscarriage to Launch: The Buccaneers' offence stuck in Preseason Loss to the Titans

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the opportunity to launch another of the NFL’s top offences in 2022, but with the visiting team in a 13-3 loss to the Tennessee Titans, very few of them are in Saturday’s game at Nissan Stadium appears in the mixing bowl. The Buccaneers trailed 0-2 one night in the 2022 preseason with little offensive consistency on either side. Tennessee didn’t score until the 10th drive of the game and didn’t bring the ball into the end zone until the last 30 seconds of the first half.

The two teams combined only 429 yards on 28 tries, 23 starts and five three-run counters, compared to the Buccaneers’ cap of 174 yards. Due in part to a handful of wide receiver injuries. The Buccaneers only played one of their usual starters, RB Leonard Fournette, on offence.

Veteran QB Blaine Gabbert started the game, but after two series handed over responsibility to sophomore QB Kyle Trask. Trask made some strong free throws. But the Buccaneers were hampered by two turnovers and four free throws, several of which wiped out big runs.

Trask had 11 of 24 passes for 105 yards while absorbing four sacks, two of which resulted in turnovers. The first threatening to erase the Buccaneers’ first score of the night in the third quarter.

The Titans started rookie quarterback Malik Willis and took him into the third quarter. Before turning to Logan Woodside while Ryan Tannehill rested for the night. The Tampa Bay defence has been excellent throughout Willis’s play. But the elusive rookie often shattered the tackle and was able to run five runs for 42 yards.

The Buccaneers shot him 3 times, captained by linebacker inside rookie Olakunle Fatukasi at 1.5. Fatukasi also led the team with nine tackles and even added a special team suspension.

“I think the guys who defended early did a good job going into the game. We had a good run on the third goal; not enough turnover. We thought we were going to have such a good game. There were a few hard balls in defence but we didn’t have enough breaks. The body parts were there, the details weren’t there when the youngsters were in the game.”

The Titans took the deciding points of the game late in the first half thanks to two errors by the Buccaneer. Rookie RB Rachaad White fidgeted in the Tampa Bay area, leading to a Tennessee field goal that hit a zero-yard drive.

On the Bucs possession that followed, LB Joe Jones selected Trask and passed the ball back into Bucs’ red zone before Willis hit TE Chig Okwonko for 6 yards.

The Trask and Bucs’ offence was more successful in the second half with 40- and 46-yard drives. Still, they only broke through the Tennessee Red Zone once and were kept within 300 feet (93 meters).

As the offence went downhill, rookie gambler Jake Camarda was busy showing off his strong legs. Averaging 50.4 yards per bet and 65 for long distance. NFL London Seahawks Vs Buccaneers fans to buy Seahawks Vs Buccaneers Tickets from our website.

Meanwhile, veteran kicker Ryan Succop captured the lone score of the night for the Buccaneers with a 52-. A field goal in the yard in the third quarter. Succop battles freshman Jose Borregales for the job of the Bucs in 2022; Borregales scored a 55-yard field goal in the preseason opener. But in a two-point loss, he also bounced 49 yards off the right post.

“We haven’t had much offence,” Bowles said. “I can’t say that one person stands out.So, I think everyone has their own faults. I think Ke’Shawn did a great job when he was there. When I can’t say anyone else without seeing that type.”

Buccaneers: Aaron Stinnie is out with a knee injury at the end of the season

Head coach Todd Bowles admitted on Sunday that the depth of the Buccaneers’ offensive line has been pushed to its limits. After the would-be starter, Aaron Stinnie sustained ACL and MCL injuries to his left knee on Saturday night.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ beleaguered offence got another hit on Saturday night. When fifth-year guard Aaron Stinnie took a left-handed shot in the team’s third-quarter game against the Tennessee Titans. He was ejected with a knee injury. On Sunday, head coach Todd Bowles confirmed that Stinnie has suffered ACL and MCL tears in his knee. Which will end his 2022 season early.

Stinnie is among the contenders to replace retiring. Professional bowler Ali Marpet at left-back and is the most experienced player in the group. The game now likely comes down to sophomore player Nick Leverett. Rookie Luke Goedeke is a second-round pick in the 2022 draft.

“Luke and Leverett are doing really well at the moment,” said Bowles.

“They have a lot of reputation, so they earned the right to fight for that spot. If there’s another loss, we don’t mind playing rookies; we’ve been playing rookies since we got here. It’s just them getting the gaming experience. The problem. So we’re happy with what we have now. But if we can find an option that works for us, we’ll consider it.”

The Buccaneers are set to head into the regular season with new starters in all three interior positions.

Alex Cappa left as a free agent to join the Cincinnati Bengals. But the Buccaneers moved quickly to fill the right-back spot by trading veteran Shaq Mason with New England. Pro Bowl centre Ryan Jensen suffered a knee injury on the second day of training camp and will miss the entire season, if not the entire season. On Sunday, Bowles acknowledged that Stinnie’s injury has pushed the depth of the Buccaneers’ offensive line to its limits.

“Every time you lose depth in any position is a problem, but we have guys who can play,” he said. “The unfortunate thing happened in the preseason. Of course, you can’t help the injury, but we can’t take more. I think we still have enough quality now, but we will be weak in the depth department.”

Aaron Stinnie started Saturday’s game as a right-back, with Goedeke getting his first chance at left-back with the first team. Stinnie replaced Goedeke on the left when he collided with dwindling Ke’Shawn Vaughn in the second half. Stinnie was listed as the starter on the left guard on the Tampa Bay depth chart. But in the preseason opener against Miami, Leverett started from that spot.

Stinnie’s playing experience includes an impressive playoff run in 2020 when he replaced the injured. Cappa was at left-back and won coaching as the Buccaneers fully captured the Super Bowl LV title. He also started a game as a left-back during the 2021 regular season when Marpet was injured.

Leverett played in two regular-season games and one playoff game last year with a total of 69 offensive snaps. Goedeke, who tackled right in central Michigan before being drafted in April with the 57th overall pick, just broke into the NFL.

Second-year man Robert Hainsey is expected to fill in for Jensen. While the Buccaneers remain in the paint of the freshmen who concocted John Molchon. Brandon Walton and Sadarius Hutcherson, none of whom had ever seen regular-season action.

“We’ve got some depth now, but we’re always looking for people who can help the team,” Bowls said. “So if we can get something at our disposal, we’ll try it out.”

The Buccaneers had three offensive linebackers in the Pro Bowl last year. But they are without two after Marpet’s retirement and Jensen’s injury. Third, all-pro right tackle Tristan Wirfs left early from the team’s joint training. With the Titans in Nashville due to an apparent oblique injury.

His absence will greatly increase the Buccaneers’ concerns about their offensive line. But Bowles said on Sunday that Wirfs’ injury is not serious.

“It’s every day,” Bowles said. “It shouldn’t be a big deal, but we’ll keep watching.”
