Broncos Vs Jaguars: Broncos are moving fast from high-profile free agency signing

In the second week of the preseason against the Buffalo Bills, the Denver Broncos made a mediocre debut and decided to take over from veteran linebacker Joe Schobert. The Broncos recently signed Schubert, weeks after the team lost starter Jonas Griffith to a dislocated elbow. Even without Griffith, the Broncos have seen enough of Schobert after a bleak preseason. Since playing for the Cleveland Browns and signing a major free-agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020, Schobert is no longer the same type of impact player.

Last year, he showed signs of declining with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the Broncos and other teams believe Schobert's experience and productivity (averaging more than 120 tackles over the past five years) will be valuable.

Joe Schobert fails to impress Denver Broncos

Schobert was one of five players removed from the 85-man roster when the Denver Broncos were reduced to the league-mandated 80 players on Tuesday. Here is the official roster released by the team on Tuesday afternoon:

LB Joe Schobert (released)

WR Trey Quinn (abstained)

OL Casey Tucker (Abandoned/Injured)

OL Tom Compton (Reserve/PUP)

RB Stevie Scott (abstain)

Among the players letting go, Trey Quinn may be coming off his best game against the Bills. He fiddled on his way back but had some good catches on offence in the second half. Denver's wide receiver position is too busy right now.

Running back Stevie Scott had 10 chances against the Bills as a runner and catcher and doesn't look explosive, or perhaps a viable option for a practice team. JaQuan Hardy doesn't look much better but still has a week left on his roster, despite exempt running back Devine Ozigbo.

Head coach Nathaniel Hackett spoke of free-agent offensive lineman Tom Compton, who underwent back surgery as if he would be back later in the coming season. Currently, the Broncos are placing him in the PUP and he will miss at least the first four games of the 2022 season. As Compton is expected to provide depth in tackles and defenders, his absence isn't exactly ideal.

The big event of the day was the team's decision to release Schobert, which was somewhat of a relief. Schubert just wasn't good enough for the Broncos, and he mostly played against future players on the exhibition side and the Bills bench.

I'd love to see him wreck games there and attack the line of scrimmage with confidence, especially with his experience and Pro Bowl pedigree.

It just didn't happen. Yet Schobert is not alone. The Broncos linebackers all looked terrible in this game. Alex Singleton missed an early tackle. Barrington Wade continued to look lost as the Bills hit the ball against Denver. NFL London Broncos vs Jaguars fans to buy Denver Broncos vs Jacksonville Jaguars Tickets from our website.

The Broncos may have to wait for more players to get waivers for extra action with the linebacker for help, but the fact that the team moved early from someone with Joe Schobert blood is George Paton's impressive display of guts. The Three Most Likely Scenarios for the 2022 Denver Broncos Season

The 2022 Denver Broncos outdoor season will likely go down in history. With all the new changes, what's the most likely scenario for the team?

I think the direction of the 2022 Denver Broncos season is much greater than what we fans have experienced recently. Most of us have accepted the fact that the 2021 season will not be a big problem.

I think many of us felt the same when John Elway brought in Joe Flacco and Case Keenum. The Broncos are considered a low-floor, low-ceiling team. So it is expected that teams will finish the game with 5-11, 7-9, 7-10, etc. Since so much has changed this season, I think the scope of what the team can do is more open.

If anything, the positives seem to far outweigh the negatives. Russell Wilson will bring elite quarterback play while Nathaniel Hackett will bring the energetic and young attacking spirit that many teams see success.

So, to be as fair and honest as possible, what are the three most likely scenarios for the Denver Broncos in the 2022 season?

Denver Broncos Most Likely Three Season Scenario: Third Most Likely Ending in 2022

The team finished 9-8 but was not fully integrated.

I see a world where this is happening, although I don't think it is likely. With an all-new coaching staff and new players in the all-important position, some thought the Broncos wouldn't pull it off in their first year.

I thought it would be cool to finish 9-8 because we're going to see this team have a winning record for the first time since 2016, but if I finished 9-8 with this lineup I would individually show it team leaves a lot on the field.

I would expect many very short losses to finish at 9-8, and a 2-4 or worse record in the AFC West.

Remember Denver has the easiest schedule in the AFC West and has games against the Seahawks, Texans, Panthers, Jaguars and Jets. They have a clear path to double-digit wins and a playoff berth, but that could happen. NFL London Broncos vs Jaguars fans to buy Broncos vs Jaguars Tickets from our website.

Broncos add a new running back for a final preseason game

After the first few preseason games, it became clear that the Denver Broncos needed to add one, possibly several, players, to the running back position. In the team's loss to the Buffalo Bills, backups JaQuan Hardy and Stevie Scott don't look good enough at this point to even be a consideration for the exhibition team, so the Broncos are in the final preseason game.

On Monday, the Broncos claimed running back Devine Ozigbo on a waiver from the New Orleans Saints, making him at the time of writing the sixth man on the roster. Although that will almost certainly change in the coming hours, as the Broncos have to go from 85 players on the roster to 80.

Denver Broncos add RB Devine Ozigbo to the active roster

Back in 2019, Ozigbo was a riser in the pre-draft draft process. A lot of people were really surprised at the time to see him drop out of the NFL draft entirely, but since then, his career has been a bit behind in 2019. Ozigbo from Nebraska has shown great athleticism, explosiveness and speed, suitable for his body type.

His most recent stint with the Saints was actually his third with the team. The Saints initially acquired Ozigbo as a free agent after the 2019 NFL Draft, but he ended up joining the Jaguars in 2019-2020, before bouncing between the Saints, Jaguars and Patriots in 2021.

Broncos’ special teams' coordinator Dwayne Stukes was with the Jaguars in 2019-20 when Ozigbo was on the roster there. Even though Stukes was a defensive assistant, perhaps he noticed Ozigbo's ability on special teams at the time and could guarantee he was capable of contributing there.

Anyway, Ozigbo's experience over the years definitely gives him an edge over JaQuan Hardy or Stevie Scott. So far none of these guys has shown anything in the preseason to get anyone overly excited about their potential to contribute at any given time.

With 16 spots available, the Broncos can eventually keep a few running backs and I believe they are now looking at the other 31 teams to see who is in the bubble with the rest and who can get in and out. It turned out that Damarea Crockett's losses were a little bigger than we initially thought.
