Charles the best left-hander in the world at his peak called the event "great fun" but also found it "challenging" and said he and his teammates needed to get creative with their strokes.

They got into the spirit of the event, including Charles wearing a "Harris tweed jacket, cardigan, long sleeve shirt, tie and cloth cap from Highgrove", the Prince of Wales's stately home in Gloucestershire.

Charles raced in a 1922 chauffeur-driven Ford Model T and set up spikes "probably for the first time in 30 years".

Much of the grounds use tackle from Christchurch Hickory Golf Club collector and restorer Stu Upton, who hosted the tournament with former Christchurch Golf Club captain Glenn Bongartz.
