What does the Euro Ryder Cup 2023 team appear?

Henrik Stenson will wake up this morning feeling a happy man after Matt Fitzpatrick’s stunning US Open victory. The European Ryder Cup 2023 teamlooks like the Brit, who has yet to win Ryder Cup points in two games, is likely to become one of the stars of the team, and will finally be able to play for his continent on home soil next year. After the latest humiliating defeat in the Whistling Strait, there are fears the US could miss out on the upcoming Ryder Cup. Young shooters like Morikawa, Scheffler, Thomas, Burns, etc. It looks like he will be part of many winning teams, but the European side can also be very strong.

“I want to be part of those teams, and I want to play well and support myself to win points, and I feel like I know I can do it,” Fitzpatrick told Golf Monthly.

“I’ve never played an incredibly disappointing four-goal game because I feel like that’s where my talent lies, and I definitely feel like it’s something I missed the last and first time. I’m looking at it shows that Roma is an incredible city.” “I was there in December and I loved it, so when I get into the team I’m really looking forward to that city and hopefully it will be a good result.”

Following the launch of the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Invitational Series. The next Ryder Cup team could look very different, especially in Europe. Ryder Cup legends such as Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter, Graeme McDowell and Lee Westwood pose as players during the biennial competition. The captain’s future adventures will likely be watching the game on TV when it kicks off in Rome next year.

Four Europeans in the current top 10 in the world McIlroy, Rahm, Hovland and Fitzpatrick are largely guaranteed to play alongside Henrik Stenson. Europe also has some very talented youngsters. The Hojgaard twins, who have won 5 DP World Tour titles at the age of 21. They will only get better and will probably struggle to get to Rome.

Another unknown young man is Guido Migliozzi. The Italian will likely be on home soil next year and showed his talent again last weekend when he shot a final lap 66 at Brookline to take 14th place. He also finished 4th at the US Open last year and has two DP World Tour wins to his name.

Shane Lowry, Tyrrell Hatton, the resurrected Thomas Pieters, Tommy Fleetwood, Paul Casey, Justin Rose, Adri Arnaus and Robert MacIntyre should probably all be involved depending on whether their futures remain on the PGA and DP World Tour.

Matt Fitzpatrick and other stars such as Hovland, Rahm and Lowry play four-ball golf for the first time – all back on home soil, the course. The setup will benefit the tough Europeans. I am beginning to appreciate European opportunities. If Poulter, Westwood, Garcia and others, the Ryder Cup will definitely be out. Not featured, but the teams in Europe look promising and the atmosphere will be great at the inaugural Italian Ryder Cup in Rome.

On paper, Europe will once again have a weaker side, but seasoned leaders such as Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose, who are back in shape, could replace his good friend and strong partner Henrik Stenson, who leads the crowd on the golf course laid out for them at home and should be a great team. Rookies like Zalatoris and Burns will push the US team forward, but the absence of DeChambeau, DJ and possibly Koepka (if he joins LIV as rumoured) means the US side might as well. Some star players are missing.

It would certainly be a different game if some of the legendary Ryder Cup names were missed, but it would still be very special. I cannot wait any longer.

US Ryder Cup 2023 captain Johnson said PGA is the way for his team

On Tuesday, US Ryder Cup 2023 captain Zach Johnson gave the clearest signal yet. That his lineup will not feature players from the Saudi-backed LIV golf series.

Ahead of the start of the PGA Tour’s John Deere Classic on Thursday. Johnson was asked how the unlimited ban on LIV Golf Series players would affect his draft picks and players in Italy next year.

“To play on a Ryder Cup team, whether you finish in the top six or are a rookie. You have to earn Ryder Cup points through the PGA of America,” Johnson said.

“To earn Ryder Cup points through the PGA of America, you must be a member of the PGA of America. The way we join the PGA of America is through the PGA Tour.”

“From there, I’ll let you connect the dots.”

The US team defeated Europe 19-9 in Whistling Straits last September with a lineup. That included three players signed to LIV Golf: Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau.

Four players from the European squad for 2021. England’s Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter, Spain’s Sergio Garcia and Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger – are now also on the upstart Tour. Which will host its first American event in Oregon on Thursday.

Johnson said he isn’t sure how much LIV Golf’s event will affect this week’s PGA event at the TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.

“It’s hard to say it’s going to have a huge impact here or there,” Johnson said. “I hope not, my always optimistic brain says no because it’s located here.

“I think the players are starting to see that, you know what, it’s just great where we are here.”

Johnson, 46, said he is encouraged by the PGA’s future in fighting to prevent players from jumping into the record prize money offered by LIV Golf.

He has friends among those who jump into LIV Golf and respect their choices.

“I have some friends who decided to go that way,” he said. “These are my friends. I support them. I want them to do well. When I want them to find satisfaction or happiness in everything.”

“I would say that I personally have a lot of respect for them. When I hope they respect me and my position.”

“I support the PGA Tour. So, I support the people who paved the way for me on this amazing tour, this platform is for fun, and competition and I would say use it to improve others, not just my family.”

PGA becomes more powerful

Johnson said the PGA will emerge stronger once the golf world emerges from the current chaos.

“The PGA Tour will be stronger when things calm down,” he said. “It can get better, and we will get better.”

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan said last week that the PGA Tour will increase prize money at select events and add three new international tournaments with big prize money.

“I heard that guy, it’s so reactionary. A lot of what’s happened this past week has been going on for years,” Johnson said.

“If you’re being threatened, you have to respond somehow too. So it’s both sides. But I like what Jay does.”
