Which one would you go directly to?

BMW M3 Touring

Yes, BMW has finally made an official M3 Touring, and we’re pretty sure it’s the M Car the company promised to show at the Festival of Speed. It will be powered by the same ‘S58’ inline-six as the sedan, meaning it will produce 503 horsepower in Competition form. Yes, it still has that grille, but hopefully, you’re used to it by now.

Ford Ranger Raptor

The new Ford Ranger Raptor has already been unveiled and shown publicly, but FOS will give the widest audience a chance to see it. Although the 2.0-litre diesel engine will eventually be fitted to the Baja-inspired pickup. It will initially come with a petrol V6. This should make for a more interesting soundtrack for the Goodwood audience.

Toyota GR Supra Manual

A new manual sports car in 2022? You better believe it. The debut of the gear lever GR Supra’s Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022 marks the second straight year that Toyota has brought such a car to the masses at FOS. The Japanese manufacturer’s 2021 event. Oh, and that car is going to tour, too. Attention sports car enthusiasts.

Gordon Murray Automotive T.50

Certainly, the GMA T.50 was already outraged by the Goodwood campaign. The spiritual successor to McLaren F1 made its debut at the 78th General Assembly. Giving the world its first chance to hear the Cosworth-built 12,100rpm V12 really sing its heart out. Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022 fans can buy Goodwood Festival Tickets from our website.

But given that there will never be a new car like this one again. It’s fantastic that the T.50 will let so many petrol heads experience this at the Festival of Speed. Murray’s masterpiece is arguably the loudest new metal work on the show.

Lexus Electric sports concept

Toyota called the electrified sport the successor to the Lexus LFA. Which the company’s then-president Akio Toyoda described as “the secret rudeness fueled by development” of its groundbreaking V10 supercar.

FOS 2022 will be the first time the public outside of Japan sees the concept. It should be a very early preview of the production version speaking of that car powered by solid-state batteries, it won’t be in for years. Showrooms come. As the concept is a mockup rather than a fully functional car. It will be displayed statically on the festival’s electric boulevard, rather than exploding on a mountain.

Mercedes-AMG One

Just a few weeks after its global debut, the Mercedes-AMG One supercar will make a splash at the Festival of Speed. Given the length of time this machine has been in development, meaning (as you might expect) it’s difficult to fit a slightly diluted F1 engine into a road car – expectations are high. At the show, we will see customers paying £2.5 million each for the 275 AMG One.

Prodrive P25

The Prodrive P25 is basically a catnip for age-specific petrolheads, taking the Subaru Impreza 22B, completely redesigning it into a lighter 400 horsepower monster and charging quite a bit of money for it. How much are you asking? £552,000 (incl. VAT) based on CT sister title Auto Express. Ouch.

Most of us will have to settle for tinkering with one of the Gran Turismo, and/or taking a look at Goodwood, where the car makes its debut. Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022 fans can buy Goodwood Speed Tickets from our website.

Porsche 911 Sport Classic

The Porsche (who else) will give FOS more of the goodness of a manual transmission coupe in the form of the 911 Sport Classic. That is the name the German manufacturer used in the past. But for the 911 of the 992 generation, it meant a 911 Turbo, with the four-wheel-drive being discarded and a seven-speed manual transmission fitted. With an output of 543 horsepower, it is the most powerful manual 911 currently available.

Mercedes-AMG One to the entrance at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022

The Mercedes-AMG One supercar will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from June 23-26, 2022.

Therefore, the Mercedes-AMG One hypercar has been officially unveiled ahead of deliveries starting later this year. The company has confirmed it will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022 from June 23-26.

When the Mercedes-AMG One is the first car to bring Formula 1 hybrid engine technology to the road, with a 1,063 hp 1.6-litre V6 – derived from the exact same engine as Lewis Hamilton and George Russell Engine and four electric motors.

Remarkably, it has an official average fuel economy of 32.5mpg and CO2 emissions of less than 200g/km.

The engine has been developed in conjunction with Mercedes-AMG’s high-performance powertrain F1 division, based in Brixworth, Northampton. The Brackley based F1 division also helped develop the One, making its dynamic British debut a fitting car. Goodwood Festival of Speed fans can buy Speed Festival Tickets from our website.

“With Mercedes-AMG One we have exceeded our limits,” said division chairman Phillipp Schiemer.

“The enormous technical challenge of making a modern Formula 1 powertrain suitable for everyday road use has certainly pushed us to the limit.

“A lot of people thought that the project could not be carried out. Despite this, the team never gave up.”

Mercedes-AMG technical director Jochen Hermann added that the project was “in a sense a curse and a blessing at the same time. But we’ve come a long way”.

F1 engines in road cars

The 1.6-litre V6 hybrid engine revs up to 11,000 rpm, although this is intentionally under the F1 rev limit. Both for durability and to ensure it can run on regular super pump fuel.

It has a high-tech turbo with a shared gas turbine and a compressor connected by a shaft on which a 122 hp electric motor is mounted.

The electric motor powers the turbo before the exhaust stream takes over. This is why Mercedes-AMG says its response is “lightning fast faster than a naturally aspirated V8”.

It has four electronically heated use catalytic converters. That helps the engine meet the stringent Euro 6 emissions under ‘Real Driving Conditions’.

This rigorous test is a challenge for even the humblest hatchback. For a 1,063 horsepower engine originally designed for F1, it’s nothing short of extraordinary.

Thanks to plug-in hybrid technology, pure electric vehicles can cover more than 18 kilometres. It also helps the Mercedes-AMG One to achieve impressive fuel economy and low emissions during the test cycle.

In terms of performance, 0-62 mph is claimed to take 2.9 seconds and 0-124 mph in 7.0 seconds. The top speed is capped at 219 mph – still making it the fastest Mercedes-AMG road car ever.

With Mastercard hosting the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2022 in a few weeks. We can now start compiling the list of incredible racers that will be on the mountain in June.
