Tunisia Football World Cup squad 2022: Full fixtures, group matches, odds and more

Tunisia is in their sixth Football World Cup with low expectations after passing African qualifiers. They hope their status as a Group D underdog will help ease the pressure and bring surprises. They have won just two of their five Africa Cup of Nations matches this year, including one against lowly Mauritania, and qualifying for the World Cup was less impressive. Qatar FIFA World Cup fans can buy Tunisia Vs France Tickets from our website.

Thanks to Malian himself, they managed to finish two feet ahead of Mali. Aim and look like the weakest of Qatar’s five African teams (Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco and African champion Senegal make up a quintet).

Manager Jalel Kadri doesn’t have much talent to choose from, but there are some household names for followers of English football, including former Sunderland winger Wahbi Khazri, now at Montpellier, from Manchester United’s Birmingham City midfielder Hannibal Mejbri on loan, and former Southampton defender Yan Valery, who joined Ligue 1 side Angers this summer.

Khazri is the second-highest scorer in the country’s history with 24 out of 69 appearances.

Tunisia has two World Cups to their name – first against Mexico in 1978 and 40 years later against Panama in Russia in 2018.

They now face defending champions France, in-form Denmark and Australia, and a win over the Socceroos is actually essential if they are to make it to the knockout stages for the first time in their history of the Football World Cup.

Kadri calls it a “personal ambition” to make it happen. He won the Kirin Cup in June but hinted he could quit if Tunisia didn’t finish in Qatar’s group stage.

“It’s my personal ambition. If we don’t succeed, I won’t be able to successfully complete my mission, albeit a very difficult one,” said Kadri.

“We want to fulfil our dream and reach the knockout stage in the sixth trials.”

Ones to watch

Star – Youssef Msakni: The 31-year-old captain, who has scored 17 caps in 84 caps, is almost certain. That Tunisia wants to shine in this Football World Cup that will be the centrepiece of the World Cup. After being loaned out to Al-Arabi in Doha for the past two years. Msakni will be one of the few players to play in Qatar (besides the Qatari team itself). So he will be more at ease than most. The World Cup opens.

Breakthrough talent – Hannibal Mejbri: The 19-year-old may not have had many opportunities to play for Manchester United in his young career. But he has been given plenty of minutes for the Tunisian national team. The team lured him from France. The country he played for when he was under 16. Mejbri has a lot of responsibility in his 18 caps and usually wears the No. 10. Now the all-round midfielder gets the chance to shine on the biggest stage. FIFA World Cup 2022 fans can buy Denmark Vs Tunisia Tickets from our website.

FIFA cautions Tunisia it faces possible removal from Football World Cup 2022

FIFA has warned Tunisia of the government’s involvement in the country’s football association.

So, FIFA has warned the Tunisian Football Federation (TFF) that their team’s participation in the 2022 World Cup could be jeopardized if the government finds interference in the organization.

The North African nation has qualified for its sixth World Cup and is in Group D with defending champions France, Australia and Denmark meeting them in their opening game on November 22.

FIFA sent a letter to the TFF earlier this week outlining concerns after Tunisia’s Youth and Sports Minister Kamel Deguiche threatened to dismantle some federal offices. As well as the recent anger that has enraged the global governing body.

According to FIFA rules, federations of all member countries are not allowed to have third parties or governments.

Kenya and Zimbabwe are currently banned due to this violation. India was also briefly suspended in August for the same reason.

FIFA confirmed the letter to Reuters but declined to comment further. TFF had no immediate comment.

In a letter to the Secretary General of TFF Wajdi Aouadi, the director of FIFA member associations, Kenny Jean-Marie, reminded the association of its obligation to act independently and avoid undue influence by third parties.

“Any failure to comply with these obligations may result in sanctions under FIFA law, including suspension of the relevant association,” it said.

The team never made it to the group stage. At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, it won only its second World Cup win and its first since beating Panama 2-1 in 1978.

Tunisia may be forced out of Qatar World Cup over minister’s comments

The Tunisian Football Federation has been threatened with suspension and the country’s national team will not be able to participate in the World Cup in Qatar next month after comments from the Tunisian sports minister.

In a leaked letter, FIFA, the governing body of football, asked the Football Association of Tunisia (FTF) for information about what it believes to be “attempts by national authorities to interfere in the internal affairs of the Tunisian Football Association and its threat to the office to be dissolved”.

“In this regard, we would like to remind you that FIFA member associations are legally obliged to conduct their affairs independently and free from undue influence by third parties,” FIFA said in a letter published by FM radio station Mosaique.

“Failure to comply with these obligations may result in sanctions under FIFA law, including suspension of the relevant association.”

FIFA’s warning follows a recent statement by Tunisia’s Youth and Sports Minister, Kamel Deguiche, about the possibility of “dissolving the federal offices of various disciplines”. Which FIFA reportedly believes could attempt to disrupt FTF.

FIFA has asked the FTF to clarify its position on the minister’s comments by Friday.

The suspension of the FTF could mean banning both the Tunisian national team. The football club from regional or international competitions, including the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

The National has contacted the FTF for comment.

Adnan Abid, a Tunisian sports law researcher, told the National newspaper that FIFA law clearly states that third parties interfere with the national football association.

“Article 19 of the FIFA statute on the independence of member universities describes the importance of these national football federations managing their affairs independently without the involvement of third parties,” said Abid.

“Paragraph 2 of the same chapter underlines the importance of appointing members of the federal office in a democratic manner, free from interference by any state authority.”
