International Canoe Federation and China have extended their broadcasting agreement through the Olympics Games 2024

The International Canoe Federation (ICF) has increased its collaboration with China's leading streaming provider through the Paris 2024 Olympics. After four years of collaboration, Huya tv in China will continue to broadcast significant international slalom and flatwater canoeing events as part of a renewed arrangement with H&A Media. The deal, which will remain in effect until the Games, will expire in December 2024 and extend a collaboration that has already yielded excellent results over the past two years. Adam Collins, the manager of ICF's digital and marketing,

“Despite there being no paddlers or events in China in 2021, the organization reported that it still attracted 11.52 million viewers to the website.”

Approximately 931,369 Chinese people saw sprint paddler Zhang Dong qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics two years ago on Huya. Collins claimed that the internet portal Huya, which focuses on young people, will assist grow interested in our sport.

Collins continued, "The data and feedback from the audience over the last three years give us confidence that Huya will assist grow interest in our sport.

"The time has come for me to do the unthinkable"

Even the world's fastest flatwater sprinter finds it challenging to slow down. Nevin Harrison, a full-time biology student at San Diego State University, manages to fit in at least one canoe training session per day and sometimes two.

Harrison, who won the 200-meter canoe sprint in Tokyo last August at the age of 19, made history by becoming the first American woman to accomplish it in 57 years. She eventually realized that she needed a brief break from the intense competition schedule.

She is, however, already getting ready to compete in the global competition in August at Lake Banook in Halifax, Canada. Harrison, a 2020 Roosevelt High School alumna who learned to paddle a canoe on Green Lake, said the social media encouragement she received from people all across Seattle during the Olympics last year gave her hope. I really feel tremendous support from my city, and I adore it, she said. I could feel the love in Tokyo. She surprised everyone by taking home her first world championship in Hungary.

She then paddled to a comfortable victory in the Olympic finals on Tokyo Bay. She finished the race in 45.932 seconds, nearly a full second quicker than six-time world champion Laurence Vincent-Lapointe of Canada.

It was such a strange feeling, she said of her first Olympic experience. I don't think I fully appreciated the impact that would have on me. Just plain stressful. I experienced some of the craziest racial anxiety I've ever known. For the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, she is prepared to repeat the process. Only 22 years old at that time. How does someone so accomplish and so young yet manage to break records?

On June 2, Harrison will be 20. He called it "a big challenge." "When I was a child, I came into this world with the belief that my eventual goal would be to one day win the Olympics. And to have capable of it at the age of 19 is really amazing.

Thoughts like "Oh, most people work their entire careers and they don't get this" make it challenging to understand at times. It's incredibly rare and special, and I'm grateful for it every day.

But today, rather than using "Oh, I want to win the Olympics" as some type of motivation, I think it's more about surpassing my previous achievements, growing personally, and setting and breaking records.

That's what I have to focus on. It's time for me to try the impossible, not just focus on winning the race. In other words, I still want to maintain my authority and display my rank. The game has altered, though, as you are no longer the underdog.
