Before his knee injury, he was set to tour with the British
and Irish Lions, ruining his hopes and shortening his 2020-21 season.

But he enjoyed the months before the crash and was happy to put it into practice on a new deal.
The 102-time Welsh international and 43-time goal scorer who
played for his country said: "I really enjoyed my early years with the
Ospreys, so I'm very happy to be able to extend my time in Wales. My focus now
is to get healthy and fight again."
North's decision to stay in Swansea is good news for the
Ospreys. The Ospreys played a key role in revitalizing him after being knocked
out by Wales for the first time in his career on Matchday 23 last autumn.
Ospreys head coach Toby Booth helped north cope with his
displeasure by repeating to North what a good player he is and working with him
to explore how the game could be affected.
The response was shocking. In the five rounds of the Guinness
PRO14 game, north appeared in the competition's best team of the week four
times. No other player has achieved the All-Star twice in the same period.
So far, he's averaged nearly one try per game for the
Ospreys, with 12 touchdowns in 27 games, but he's also developed his game and
become a more comprehensive player.

The Welsh head coach and his attacking director Stephen Jones
decided last semester to move north to the test-level middle position. This
change paid off. The 6-foot-4, 17-inch 2-pound player was in the game. There
are more touches, so it has a greater impact on the game.
Five months after his injury, North is recovering under the
supervision of Osprey's medical team at the area's new high-performance center
in Llandarcy.
Along with British and Irish Lions Alun Wyn Jones, Justin
Tipuric, Adam Beard, Dan Lydiate, and Rhys Webb, reiterating his promise to
Osprey. Another lion, Alex Cuthbert is a newcomer to the area.
