Lions vs Japan: Japan name 36-man squad to face British and Irish Lions at Murray field in June

The Lions will face Japan before traveling to South Africa. Japan will also play Test vs. Ireland in Dublin on July 3, after playing the Lions. Japan will face the British and Irish Lions in Edinburgh next month with a team. That includes 19 players who helped them to the quarter-finals of the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Head coach Jamie Joseph has announced that the 36-man roster will play a warm-up match. Against the former Sun Wolves Super Rugby team on Monday, June 12. Before the Lions take on Ireland at Murrayfield in Scotland on 26 June and Ireland in Dublin on 3 July.

The team, captained by World Cup captain Michael Leitch, includes 23 players with a total of 476 test caps. It also contains 16 players who took part in the Japan Top League club final on Sunday. Including seven from the Panasonic Wild Knights, who crowned national champions.

The Lions will play Japan before departing for his or their tour to South Africa. With the test to play ahead of a crowd of 16,500 fans – 1 / 4 of Murray field’s capacity – but the most important crowd for a rugby match in Britain in 16 months.
