Johnson believes his former Fox Sports colleague, Urban Meyer, could find similar success in the pros after winning three national titles.

“It doesn’t make any difference, there’s a galaxy of differences,” Johnson said. “As a college coach, I was a mentor, I was kind of a father figure. I gave huge advice to the players. They were young children who left home for the first time in their lives. All the pressures of getting a college degree, the pressures of a bride. And the pressures of living outside their family.
“So my relationship with the players was very different from the professional players. And who is actually dictated for financial reasons, it’s a business, their agents influence them. So it’s a completely different relationship.”
