Johan Brockman, a prop forward, scored Namibia's Trustco United's first point from a forward maul that was moving forward, and fullback Renier Benade added the conversion and a penalty to make it 10-0 midway through the first half. Early in the second half, United captain Eloff du Plessis set up flanker Freddy Mazila's touchdown thanks to a strong run. However, Unam answered with a try from scrumhalf Cameron Klaassen, cutting the lead to 27-12.  After a fantastic try by scrumhalf Jahno du Plessis, who broke blind from a scrum and sprinted 40 metres to touch down, United increased their advantage to 34-12. However, Unam stormed back with two tries to close the difference to 34-24.

First, winger Berry Gande evaded two defenders to score in the corner, and then lock Bjorn Kazundunge scored following deliberate pressure by Unam's attackers.  United, however, came out on top, as Benade converted a late try by prop Jano Otto to give them a comfortable 44-24 victory after kicking a penalty to put them ahead 37-24.

While Grootfontein outscored Wanderers two tries to one, Denzo Bruwer, a fullback for Wanderers, was the match's match-winning kicker, scoring 20 points to help Wanderers stay in second place.

The game sprang to life after the half, with Wanderers holding a 6-3 advantage. Hendrik van Zyl's score gave Grootfontein a 10-6 lead, but Tshuuya Iyambo's try conversion gave the Wanderers the advantage back at 13-10.

Wanderers went up 19-13 after two more Bruwer penalties, but Grootfontein took the lead again at 20-19 after a converted touchdown by prop Henning Joubert.  The advantage still changed hands a few times in the action-packed final minutes until Bruwer added another penalty to secure the Wanderers' victory.

FNB Kudus maintained third place in the standings after defeating Western Suburbs 41-10 at home in Walvis Bay, while the Rehoboth rivalry delivered a thrilling 34-32 victory for Rehoboth over Reho Falcon.

   Namibia RWC squad: Welwitschias Take On the Simbas

The Windhoek Draught Welwitschias will host the Kenyan Simbas tomorrow at the Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek to continue their Mzansi Challenge campaign. While Namibia has lately trounced Kenya at the national level, the Welwitschias have solely utilised local players with scant international experience.

The Mzansi Challenge, on the other hand, is a competition for players from the area. The number of foreign players on the Kenyan team is unknown. On the ten-team log, the Welwitschias are in sixth place with seven points, and the Simbas are in ninth place with four points. The tournament has seen various problems since it started at the end of March as a result of numerous changes and last-minute substitutions among participating teams and locales. Originally scheduled opponents Tel Aviv Heat of Israel and Diables de Barcelona of Spain withdrew at the last minute, prompting the inclusion of the American team San Clemente Rhinos as a replacement.

Financial difficulties have also influenced the competition, especially for Kenya, who had to cancel their home matches in Nairobi to set up a base in the Western Cape, where they have played their games so far. The Simbas have only played three games, two of which were postponed, but despite only having one win, they have remained competitive.

They opened their season against the San Clemente Rhinos at the Strand in the Western Cape, where they were trounced 33-22 after their first two games were postponed. Last week, they earned their first victory of the year by defeating the Border Bulldogs 30-26 in Cape Town. Subsequently, they lost 18-7 against Eastern Province in Port Alfred.

In comparison, the Welwitschias have played six games and have dropped five of them. They defeated the Zimbabwe Goshawks on April 14 in Harare, 31–26. They have, nevertheless, engaged in heated rivalry, and with any luck, they may have won more games.

Before losing 25-24 to the San Clemente Rhinos in Windhoek and 26-21 to the Border Bulldogs in East London, they fought valiantly against the San Clemente Rhinos. Before last Saturday's loss against the Leopards at Walvis Bay by a score of 23-20, they put up another heroic effort. Their only important setback up to that moment had been a 48-24 defeat to the Valke in Windhoek a month earlier.

However, the team has grown since then, and a few players have gained the coaches' attention to stake out positions for upcoming international fixtures. Andre van der Berg has thrived at flyhalf and is now third among the competition's leading scores thanks to his all-around attacking approach and dependable boot.

Adriaan van der Bank of the SWD Eagles comes in second with 65 points, followed by Keagan Fortune of the Valke with 55 points, and Van der Berg with 45. Van der Berg, on the other hand, comes in sixth place for the most penalties while holding the record for the most conversions with eight.

Van der Berg is expected to be out tomorrow owing to a knee injury he sustained against the Leopards last weekend, and Henrique Olivier will likely fill in at flyhalf.
